Spring raw materials working at high temperatures provide certain media with good thermal stability, relaxation or creep, oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance.

With the increase of working temperature of spring, the elastic modulus, stiffness and bearing capacity of spring raw materials decrease. Therefore, a spring operating at high temperature must understand the rate of change of the modulus of elasticity (value), and calculate the damage to the service performance of the spring bearing capacity decline. According to the provisions of GB 1239, when the working temperature of ordinary spiral spring exceeds 60℃, its shear modulus shall be corrected. The formula is as follows: G≤ room temperature elastic modulus in the formula GT=KTG, shear modulus t at gt-operating temperature t, and kt-temperature correction coefficient shall be selected according to table 2≤98.

Low temperature spring material should have good low temperature toughness. Carbon spring steel wire, piano wire and austenitic stainless steel wire of 1Cr18Ni9 steel, copper alloy and nickel alloy have better toughness and strength at low temperature.

At low temperature, the brittleness of raw materials is very sensitive to surface defects, so the surface quality of raw materials should be strictly required.

At low temperature, the corrosion degree of environmental media to raw materials is much lower than that in the greenhouse.

At low temperature, the modulus of elasticity and coefficient of expansion of raw materials change little, which can be ignored in the design.
